CMUT stands for capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer. It was invented by M. Haller and Pierre Khuri-Yakub of Stanford University in 1994.
Bilkent group is specialized in small-signal and large-signal modeling of CMUT cells or arrays of CMUT cells. The group developed analytical models that can be used to simulate tens of thousands of CMUT cells arranged in an arbitrary manner. For such large number of cells, a numerical finite-element simulation is not feasible.
Bilkent group is able to manufacture CMUT arrays using surface micromachining or wafer bonding techniques using UNAM or ARL facilities of Bilkent University.
